Die Fahrradmarke Diamant entstand in Belgien durch die Arbeit von August Simons, einem belgischen Radprofi, der nach dem Ende seiner aktiven Laufbahn seine eigene Marke gründete. Einige der Premiumrahmen wurden von Martelly hergestellt, darunter auch die des berühmten Radfahrers Freddy Maertens.
